Resolutions? Not for me!

I don”t believe in New Year”s resolutions.

There. I said it.

Now I don”t mean “don”t believe in” like don”t believe in the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus or GOOD country music (Oops! Who said that?). I just mean that I don”t believe in them because they never work for me.

So, no… I did not make a resolution to lose weight in 2014. Nor did I resolve to get more sleep, make more money, or be a better person. Nope. These are all goals of mine that I will always strive for in my life, but they are not resolutions, because the moment I label it as a “resolution” is the same moment that I guarantee it will never happen.

But today, on this first day of January, I will take this moment to reflect on the past year and to refocus my thoughts and my energy.

Thank you to all of you who made 2013 a wonderful year. I truly believe that all of us have a responsibility to do our part to put more positivity out in the world. For me, social media has been a wonderful platform to do just that. While it is easy to get caught up in negative posts listing the failures of the past year, I prefer to look at the opportunity of the endless possibilities of the coming year. With that said, I challenge each of you to join me in sharing at least one positive thing on social media every day.

In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

So let”s do it! Share this blog on your Facebook, Twitter, or other social network and let”s make 2014 the most positive and special year yet!

With gratitude,
-Brian

  1. I’m sharing a positive quote on Twitter, Facebook, and Linked In every day. Someone once recommended that to me. Oh yeah, it was YOU. Thanks Brian!

  2. My resolution is to clean up the pile of clothes that have built up in my bedroom. Small goals = success! (Though not yet unsurprisingly 🙂

  3. I am going to try to spread positivity through social media by actually sharing things for once 🙂 …. Brian, I’m about to kick your awesome social media training into high gear!
